Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma

چکیده
Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is an aggressive non‐Hodgkin Lymphoma, most frequently diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma in immunocompetent patients, which is confined to the central nervous system.[1] In the past two decades, its incidence has been steadily increasing. However, differential diagnosis, such as demyelinating disease, could be a challenge particularly in patients with atypical clinical symptoms and neurological imaging. Here, we described clinical presentation, imaging and pathological results of two cases of PCNSL and highlighted the importance of considering the possibility of PCNSL initially when cases were similar.

Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia preceding the Diagnosis of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma
In this study, a 2.5-year-old boy suffering from a febrile seizure with normal laboratory tests and a history of immune hemolytic anemia was examined. Brain MRI demonstrated some tumors in the frontal, parietal, and occipital lobe that corroborated the pathology results of primary central nervous system lymphoma for the patient. The patient was treated with high- dose of Methotrexate. Our re...

Introduction: Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is rare, but an aggressive malignancy. Central nervous system Burkitt lymphoma (CNSBL) is very rare. CNS Burkitt’s lymphoma is treated with high-dose chemotherapy and radiation. Radiotherapy in children younger than three years old may cause major CNS damage. Case report: A three-year-old boy presented with painful proptosis of the left eye. He under...

Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare cancer that confined to the brain, spinal cord, leptomeninges and eyes. The origin of this type of lymphoma is often type B lymphocytes, and because the central nervous system (CNS) has no lymph nodes or lymphatic vessels, the cause of PCNSL is still uncertain (1). But its source appears to be from lymphocytes located in the CNS (2). Thi...
متن کاملA Case Report of Primary Angiitis of the Central Nervous System
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) is an inflammatory vasculitis with very low frequency and prevalence. It is not clear why the inflammatory process of this disease is limited to cerebrovascular disease without systemic manifestations. A case of primary angiitis of the central nervous system with cerebrovascular manifestations is reported here. C...
متن کاملBHS guidelines for primary central nervous system lymphoma
Primary central nervous system lymphoma is a rare form of extranodal B cell lymphoma of the brain, the eyes, the meninges or the spinal cord in the absence of systemic lymphoma. The management of primary central nervous system lymphoma remains controversial, which is related to the rarity of the cases and the small number of controlled studies available. The present consensus report provides th...
